Brazil biggest mining, exported Vale’s iron ore exports grow in Jan-Aug

In August alone, the exports amounted to approximately 28.1 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 14.8% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%.

According to statistics from Brazil iron ore and base metals association Sinferbase, Vale S.A. (Vale), a Brazilian multinational corporation engaged in metals and mining, exported around 178.1 million tons of iron ore in the first eight months of this year, growing by 6.1% compared to the same period a year ago.

As for the sales volume, Vale sold around 1.6 million tons of iron ore in August in the domestic market, down by 7.6% from July while hiking by 22.5% from the same month of last year. The domestic sales volume from January to August totaled roughly 11.6 million tons, rising by 19% year on year.
