Aperam’s steel shipments increase in Q1

Aperam, a stainless steel manufacturer based in Luxembourg, reported that its steel shipments totaled 493,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, increasing by 14.4% compared to the previous quarter and also hiking by 12.6% from the same period a year ago.

During the period, Aperam's shipments of stainless and electrical steel amounted to 483,000 tons, a quarter-on-quarter increase of 11.8% and a year-on-year hike of 13.4%.

According to Timoteo Di Maulo, CEO of Aperam, the current order status showed that the sales volume is steady and prices are rising in the second quarter.
