ArcelorMittal idled the blast furnace at the Dunkirk site in France because of low demand. Its production capacity can reach 1.2 million tons yearly.

The company’s blast furnace at its Eisenhuttenstadt site in Germany was shut down due to routine maintenance. It was planned to restart early next month, but it might be delayed because of fluctuating markets.

After the trend of increasing panic buying due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the actual demand was unchanged, and it made a large overstock.
