ArcelorMittal USA to lay off workers at Cleveland plant due to COVID-19

It was reported that ArcelorMittal USA declared on July 24 to lay off 425 workers from its plant in Cleveland before August 1 because of the effect of the coronavirus epidemic.

The company said most of the downstream plants are still suspended now. Even though part of the companies is resumed operation, the demand in the short time will not be increased considering the limitation of commercial status.

ArcelorMittal USA said it was also probable to lay off more employees in an unlimited period and the current situation might continue over a half a year.
