Arconic Corporation, a leading aluminum producer based in the US, will idle its aluminum extrusion plant in Arizona, which supplies products to the aerospace extrusion industry.
Although the listed companies in the US are generally taking an optimistic attitude toward the aluminum demand in 2021, most people expected a slowdown in the recovery of the aerospace industry.
However, the growth and strong performance of the terminal markets in the packaging, transportation, and industrial fields have been offset by the continued weakness in sales in the aerospace industry, according to Arconic.
