Argentina said this Monday that it will implement a new optional tax regime for copper exports that will allow a variable rate of 0%-8% based on copper prices to replace the current 4.5% export duty on new copper investments. However, the Ministry of Economy didn’t give further details.

The new tax regime will increase mining investments and reduce export duties to boost domestic production.
