Australia stop alumina, aluminum ores exports to Russia

After discussing with Australian Defence Minister Peter Dutton and Ukraine, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the Australian government decided to donate more military equipment, humanitarian aid, and coal to Ukraine to resist Russia’s invasion and also impose extra sanctions against Russia.

Besides, Morrison also announced an immediate ban on exports of alumina and aluminum ores, including bauxite, to Russia as an additional sanction on Russia, saying that Russia relies on Australia for nearly 20% of its demand for alumina, so the export ban will restrict limit Russia's ability to produce aluminum.
