China’s iron ore imports keep flat in Jan-Feb

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, in the first two months of this year, China imported around 181 million tons of iron ore, basically keeping flat compared to the same period a year ago.

Due to the softening prices, the total import value had a year-on-year decline of 28%, reaching roughly US$19 billion.

During the same period, China’s iron ore output totaled approximately 155.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.5%.
