Baosteel's No. 3 blast furnace restarted after the overhaul. The blast furnace was put into operation in 1994 for the first time and upgraded to 4,850 cubic meters in 2013 with an annual iron production capacity of 3.98 million tons per year.

The No.3 blast furnace was shut down on December 22, 2021, with a maintenance period of 98 days. It lost about 1 million tons of pig iron production during maintenance.

This upgrade project will eliminate potential safety hazards in the daily production of blast furnaces, achieve clean and green production, and significantly improve service life.
