According to the National Institute of Steel Distributors (INDA), flat product shipments by Brazilian independent distributors fell by 1.7% year-on-year to 257,000 tons in December 2022, and down by 11.6% month-on-month. The shipments decline was due to lower sales of heavy plate and cold rolled coil.

From January to December, the total import of flat products was about 1.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 17.2%.
