Brazil's government requires Vale to allocate 7.9 billion reais for Brumadinho dam accident

At the end of January last year, a collapse accident of Vale’s tailing dam in Brumadinho in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, caused more than 270 deaths, and the company faced multiple legal proceedings for the accident.

According to reports, a judge in the state of Minas Gerais, partially approved a mandatory order proposed by the prosecutor on May 27th, requiring Vale to allocate 7.9 billion reais as a special payment used to pay the potential fines for the dam accident.
