According to statistics from the Brazil Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Brazil’s iron ore exports totaled 34.4 million tons in June this year, falling by 2% compared to the previous month but rising by 7.5% from the year-ago level. This figure hit the second-high monthly exports since 36 million tons in September last year.
In the first half of this year, Brazil’s iron ore exports amounted to nearly 170 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%. Among them, the shipment to China accounted for the largest proportion at 60% of the total.
