Brazil's Vale announced that it had cooperated with Oldendorff Carriers, one of the world's largest dry bulk shipping companies, to start the first full cargo of iron ore delivery through a biofuel bulk vessel from Brazil to Asia.

The biofuel voyage adapted B24 biofuel, which is a blend of about 24% biodiesel produced with used cooking oil of vegetable origin and fuel oil. It was expected to save CO2 emissions by around 18% and reduce Vale's Scope 3 emissions.
