According to the Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco), the mining investment in Chile, the largest copper producer in the world, was expected to reach US$65.71 billion during the period from 2023 to 2032.

The forecast was lower than its previous ten-year forecast of US$73.65 billion released last year, based on 53 projects. However, the forecast this time took into account 49 projects.

Copper projects were expected to obtain the largest proportion of the projected investments, totaling US$57.35 billion. Meanwhile, the estimated investment for gold, iron ore, lithium, and other industrial minerals would be US$8.36 billion.
