Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a premium aluminum producer based in the UAE, became the first aluminum producer and the first company in the Middle East to join the Sea Cargo Charter.

The Sea Cargo Charter sets out a framework to assess and disclose the climate alignment of ship chartering activities around the world to reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions from global shipping to net zero by around 2050, meeting the goal of the International Maritime Organization.

EGA transports approximately 22 million tons of aluminum, bauxite, and raw materials around the world every year. The company is committed to net zero emissions by 2050, including across the supply chain. Joining the Sea Cargo Charter will help EGA achieve its goal of net zero emissions from the supply chain.
