China’s A00 aluminium ingot price surges by RMB180/t to RMB18,630/t; Low carbon aluminium price hikes by RMB186/t

On Thursday, December 14, China’s A00 aluminium ingot price has hiked by RMB 180 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,630 per tonne, with the average prices standing between RMB 18,610 per tonne and RMB 18,650 per tonne. As per the SMM data, the spot contract price may be traded at a discount price of RMB 90 to RMB 50 per tonne.

The SMM price chart shows that the Chinese aluminium market did not see a significant increase in 2023. Instead, prices were relatively stable at an average of RMB 18,000 per tonne. However, there was a minor rebound on April 20, with the price reaching RMB 19,110 per tonne.

As per the Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) data, the prices have grown in all the provinces. To begin with, the price in Wuxi has surged by RMB 200 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,650 per tonne. On the same day, the prices in Foshan, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Linyi expanded by RMB 180 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,810 per tonne, RMB 18,630 per tonne, RMB 18,680 per tonne and RMB 18,780 per tonne. In Gongyi and Tianjin, the domestic aluminium ingot prices have increased by RMB 160 per tonne to reside at RMB 18,730 per tonne and RMB 18,660 per tonne. In Shenyang, the A00 aluminium ingot price has ascended by RMB 140 per tonne to clock at RMB 18,640 per tonne.
