China’s aluminum consumption in automobile industry drops while for medical usages surge in H1 2020

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the consumption of aluminum used in China’s automobile industry dropped by nearly 17% in the first half of this year compared to the same period a year ago. However, the demand for medical aluminum materials had a year-on-year surge.

Besides, the need for aluminum used in package and electronics also rose due to a change in lifestyles such as home isolation, remote education, and remote work.

According to some companies, they are seeking to develop markets in the Belt and Road countries, Southeast Asia, and other regions as the trading condition became severer, and they also speeded up the set-up in the domestic market distribution networks.
