China’s Baosteel, Angang, and Bengang announced last Friday (March 10) that they would continue to raise their prices for April, of which the price of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel was up by CNY 200-300 per ton.

Regarding the price adjustment from China’s three major steel mills, Chaodong Weng, chairman of Taiwan’s China Steel Corporation (CSC), said that the increase was in line with expectations, and it will also support the uptrend of steel prices.

The continued hike in China's market prices showed stronger demand in China, coupled with the high prices of international raw materials, steel prices were expected to be continuously pushed up.
