China's bauxite imports rise in H1 2020

According to the data issued by China Customs, China imported 58.3 million tons of bauxite in the first half of 2020, up by 30.28% year on year.

Among them, China imported 27.3 million tons of bauxite from Guinea from January to June 2020, down by 1.16% year on year. The import volume from Australia was 18.6 million tons, up by 16.74% year on year; and 10.5 million tons from Indonesia, up by 54.16% year on year.

The import volume in June was 10.4 million tons, up by 9.37% compared to May, and up by 17.6% year on year. Among them, China imported 5.03 million tons bauxite from Guinea in June, up by 21.67% compared to May; followed by Australia and Indonesia, with 3.24 million tons and 1.9 million tons, down by 0.37% and up by 4.3% month on month.
