China’s electrolytic aluminum production capacity expected to drop to 39.6 million tons in Mar

Electrolytic aluminum enterprises in Yunnan, China were asked to reduce power usage to 40%-42% based on the total built capacity The first round of 20% production cut was completed last September, and the remaining 20%-22% should be completed this time.

The current operating capacity of electrolytic aluminum in Yunnan is 4.04 million tons. The second round of production reduction started last week and was expected to be finished within ten days.

According to estimates, the operational production capacity in Yunnan will fall to around 3.2-3.3 million tons in February, and the national electrolytic aluminum production capacity will drop to approximately 39.6 million tons in March.
