China’s iron ore imports drop in May

According to statistics from China Customs, China’s iron ore imports totaled around 89.8 million tons in May, sliding by nearly 9% compared to the previous month, due to due to seasonal factors and a decrease in Australia’s shipment. However, the figure was up by 3.2% from the same month a year ago.

In the first five months of this year, China’s iron ore imports amounted to roughly 471.77 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6%.
