China’s new iron ore inspection rules have few impacts on Australia

According to reports, the Australian government minimized the concerns of the potential impact of the new China’s customs inspection over iron ore.

Simon Birmingham, the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, said that the earlier indication for talking to the industry was given a chance to benefit both China and Australia. The industry welcomed the improvements from the administrative arrangements that could simplify the customs clearance of the iron ore imports.

China’s customs have announced that it might change the measures of clearance designed to simplify procedures at ports, effective in June. However, it was reported that it could the warning from China to Australian miners that iron ore imports could be affected by the escalating tension between the two countries.
