In September, compared to other months in 2023, China's prepainted steel sheet and strip exports hit a new monthly record high of 610,000 tons, a month-on-month growth of 9.94% and a year-on-year increase of 52.53%.

The main markets for Chinese prepainted steel suppliers were the Philippines and India, of which the Philippines market accounted for 8.14% of Chinese exports from January to September. In addition, India was the fastest-growing market for the product, accounting for 4.29% of total exports during the period.

The market estimated that China's prepainted steel exports would continue to grow in 2023, exceeding 6 million tons in annual volume.

However, with the cancellation of export tax refunds and slow domestic demand, Chinese steel mills have to plan sales layouts and develop high-end products to open up new markets.
