According to statistics, China's primary aluminum output hit a record high in May, reaching 3.42 million tons, up by 1.8% compared to the previous month and also rising by 3.1% from the same month a year ago. The growth in China's primary aluminum output showed that the restrictions on electricity consumption have eased and the blockade of the COVID-19 epidemic has had little impact on production.

Wan Ling, an aluminum analyst at CRU Research, said that China's primary aluminum output may continue to grow in June and July.

In the first five months of this year, China's primary aluminum production amounted to 16.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%.
