According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China, China produced around 3.4 million tons of primary aluminum in April this year, slightly up by 0.3% compared to the same month a year ago, hitting a record high, due to eased restrictions on electrical production, allowing smelters to expand operations.

The daily production of primary aluminum averaged 112,000 tons in April, growing by 5.2% compared to the previous month, which was also a record high.
