China’s stainless steel exports & imports grow in 2021

According to statistics from China Customs, China’s stainless steel exports amounted to around 4.4 million tons in 2021, rising by nearly 29% compared to the previous year. The imports of stainless steel totaled roughly 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 57%.

In December 2021, China exported around 443,000 tons of stainless steel, a month-on-month hike of 12.4% and a year-on-year increase of 16.6%. Meanwhile, the import volume was approximately 270,000 tons, hiking by 13.7% from last month and also rising by 24.5% year on year.
