China’s stainless steel exports & imports hike in 2021

According to statistics from China Customs, China’s stainless steel exports amounted to around 4.4 million tons in 2021, hiking by nearly 29% compared to the previous year. The imports during the same year totaled roughly 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 57%.
In December 2021, China exported around 443,000 tons of stainless steel, a month-on-month increase of 12.4% and a year-on-year hike of 16.6%. China’s imports of stainless steel totaled roughly 270,000 tons last year, rising by 13.7% month on month and by 24.5% year on year.
