China's stainless steel imports down, exports up in Mar

China's stainless steel imports in March 2025 decreased by 19.4% month on month and by 15.6% year on year to around 129,000 tons. The cumulative imports for the first quarter fell by 25.9% year on year to 451,000 tons.

In terms of exports, the volume in March surged by 71% from February and rose by 21.8% year on year to 471,000 tons. The exports in the January-March period amounted to around 1.22 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 15.5%.

In March, China’s net exports of stainless steel significantly rose by 197% month on month and by 46.3% year on year, reaching approximately 342,000 tons. The cumulative net exports for the first three months were also around 342,000 tons, up by 71% year on year.
