According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s stainless steel imports totaled around 292,000 tons in November this year, falling by 6.22% compared to the preceding month but increasing by 22.6% from the year-ago level. Among them, the imports from Indonesia were 232,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 14.7% and a year-on-year increase of 24.5%.

In the first 11 months of this year, China imported a total of roughly 3.05 million tons of stainless steel, up by 14.7% year on year. The imports from Indonesia during the period accounted for 84% of the total import volume, with 2.57 million tons, hiking by 21.69% year on year.

However, due to a month-on-month drop in imports from Indonesia in November, China’s stainless steel prices will be supported.
