China’s stainless steel imports from Indonesia rise in Q1

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, in the first three months of this year, China’s imports of stainless steel from Indonesia amounted to approximately 414,000 tons, hiking by nearly 416% compared to the same period a year ago.

Among them, the imports of hot-rolled stainless steel had a year-on-year decrease of 46.67% to 6,100 tons; those of cold-rolled stainless steel had a year-on-year increase to around 158,000 tons; those of semi-finished billets had a year-on-year hike of 1775.75% to roughly 251,000 tons.

In March alone, China totally imported around 117,000 tons of stainless steel from Indonesia, sliding by 7% compared to the previous month.
