In the first half of this year, because of the reoccurrence of Covid-19 in China and the global economic recession, the overall steel demand in China was low. Even in the peak season, March and April, the steel market still didn’t have a good performance.

However, with the epidemic eased in the second half year and China's implementation of various policies to stimulate steel demand, the steel shipment in July recovered significantly. Meanwhile, the steel inventory kept decreasing.

In the third quarter, due to resuming fixed asset construction, construction steel demand went higher. Apart from that, the outlook of the manufacturing industry also gradually recovered. As a result, China’s steel market was expected to be optimistic in the second half of this year.
