Global primary aluminum market has supply shortage of 895,000 tons in Jan-Jun

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global primary aluminum market has a supply shortage of 895,000 tons in the first half of this year, and the shortage in the whole year of 2021 was 1.844 million tons.

In the January-June period, the global demand for primary aluminum was 34.48 million tons, down by 163,000 tons from the same period in 2021.

During the period, the global primary aluminum production slid by 0.4% compared to the same period a year ago.
