China’s unwrought aluminum alloy imports fall in May

According to statistics from China Customs, China's unwrought aluminum alloy imports totaled around 83,000 tons in May, falling by 11.6% compared to the previous month and by 28% from the year-ago level. Meanwhile, exports rose by 20.8% month on month and fell by 2.6% year on year to nearly 20,000 tons.

In the first five months of this year, China imported a total of 444,000 tons of unwrought aluminum alloy, a year-on-year drop of 19.3%. Exports reached 93,300 tons during the period, a year-on-year increase of 11.5%.

Malaysia was the biggest supplier of China's unwrought aluminum alloy imports in the January-May period, with around 32,500 tons, accounting for nearly 40% of the total.
