China’s unwrought aluminum and aluminum products imports rise in Dec 2023

According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China’s imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products amounted to around 323,000 tons in December last year, rising by 25.2% compared to the same month in 2022.

During the same period, imports of aluminum ore and its concentrate totaled roughly 11.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%.

In the whole year of 2023, China imported a total of approximately 3.06 million tons of unwrought aluminum and aluminum products, hiking by 28% year on year. The cumulative imports of aluminum ore and its concentrate amounted to about 141.4 million tons, up by 13% year on year.
