Chinese main steel manufacturers’ steel products output decreases in early Mar compared to late Feb

According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, at the beginning of March, the daily average pig iron output from China’s main steel manufacturers totaled about 1.84 million tons, decreasing by 1.82% compared to late February and declining by 3.97% year on year. Meanwhile, the daily average crude steel and steel products’ production amounted to about 2.06 million tons and 1.93 million tons, decreasing by 3.38% and by 6.65% from late February, respectively.

Regarding steel inventories at the beginning of March, they increased by 8.35% from late February and grew by 10.28% from the same period of last year to 19.52 million tons.
