Chinese steel industry’s capacity utilization rate drops in H1 2020

According to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), the capacity utilization rate of the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry was 78.4% in the second quarter of this year, decreasing by 2.5% compared to the same period a year ago.
In the first half of this year, the capacity utilization rate of the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry was 75.6%, which reduce by 4.6% from the same period a year earlier.
