Crude Steel Output by North America Dipped 28%

According to the recent data published by the World Steel Association, the crude steel production by North American countries plunged lower by 28% during the month of July year-on-year. The production totalled 7.209 million tonnes (Mt) in July this year as against 10.019 Mt recorded in the same month a year before.

The total crude steel production by Canada during July this year was 800,000 t, down significantly by 24.5% when compared with the July 2019 production. The US produced 5.241 Million tonnes of crude steel, considerably lower by 29.4% when compared to 7.419 Mt of production achieved during a year before. The total crude steel production by Mexico edged lower by 22.6% from 1.486 Mt in July ‘19 to 1.150 Mt in July this year.
