Egypt Aluminum plans to invest in upgrade

The Ministry of Public Business Sector of Egypt planned to invest EGP 13 billion in Egypt Aluminum Co SAE (Egyptalum)’s upgrade, including new energy-efficient technology. The energy costs accounted for about 40% of the total cost in aluminum production.

The Ministry also aimed to raise the plant's production capacity to 250,000 tons.

The feasibility report of this project was scheduled to be completed by mid-2021.
