Egypt makes final ruling of safeguards on raw aluminum imports

According to the notification released by the WTO Committee on Safeguards on April 12, 2021, Egypt made an affirmative final ruling on the imports of raw aluminum (ingots, billets, and wire rods).

This safeguard measure will come into force on April 15, 2021, valid for three years.

The safeguard duty for the first year is 16.5% of CIF value with a minimum limit of US$333/ton, that for the second year is 13.5% of CIF value with a minimum limit of US$271/ton, and that for the third year is 10.5% of CIF value with a minimum limit of US$211/ton.

The period of investigation was from July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019.
The products involved are under HS codes 760110, 760120, and 760511.
