En+ Group starts electricity supply to Taishet smelter

En+ Group, the world's largest producer of low-carbon aluminum and independent hydropower, recently announced that its Taishet aluminum smelter has started to receive electricity from the Ozernaya substation, with the power supply to the indoor switching equipment.

The Taishet aluminum smelter was expected to be operated this year. The power supply will be 390 MW, which will increase to 780 MW by 2022.

The launch of this aluminum smelter will drive economic development in Irkutsk.
