Muhammad Lutfi, Indonesian Minister of Trade, said that the exports of steel products, including stainless steel, from Indonesia to China in 2020 were more than US$7 billion.

Therefore, China is now conducting an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on stainless steel imports from Indonesia, targeting Tsingshan’s Indonesian Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), as the firm has been exporting cheap stainless steel to China due to its abundant nickel resources. However, this AD measure had no impact on Indonesia’s steel industry.
