European alumina production declines in Apr

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), alumina production in Europe, including Russia, totaled 505,000 tons in April, falling by 9.34% compared to the preceding month and by 26.1% from the year-ago level.

In the first four months of this year, alumina production in the above-mentioned amounted to 2.07 million tons, sliding by 33.47% compared to the corresponding period a year earlier.

In April, global alumina production was 11.235 million tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.32% and a year-on-year drop of 2.49%.
