European alumina production rises in Mar

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), alumina production in Europe, including Russia, totaled 558,000 tons in March of this year, rising by 13.4% compared to the previous month but sliding by 27.4% from the year-ago level.

In the first quarter of 2023, alumina production in Europe amounted to 1.567 million tons, down by 9% from the fourth quarter of last year and dropping by 35.5% from the same period a year earlier.

In March, global alumina production totaled approximately 11.42 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 10.4% and a year-on-year decrease of 1%.
