According to the European Aluminium Foil Association (EAFA), as the demand for aluminum foil is continuously recovering in Europe, the region’s aluminum foil delivery had a year-on-year increase of nearly 3.9% in 2021, reaching 967,000 tons, which hit a record high. The increase was 12.8% in the fourth quarter of 2021 alone.

In 2021, European aluminum foil exports kept decreasing, a year-on-year drop of 15%, as the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on production and supply chains hasn’t been fully eliminated yet. However, these adverse impacts were partially offset by the growth in European deliveries.

The supply of aluminum foil was expected to be affected by the epidemic and the Russia-Ukraine. Due to the supply shortages and soaring energy costs, most raw materials and commodity prices may rise further this year.
