Galvalume steel price in US hits record high in Apr

The domestic price of galvalume (GL) steel in the US has set a new high level in April, which was lasted for four consecutive months.
Currently, due to strong market demand and insufficient supply, some buyers tended to purchase imported GL, even if there are 232 import tariffs and longer delivery. Therefore, the import volume is gradually increasing. However, local steel mills are also controlling production and order quotas to shorten the delivery period.
According to news, Steel Dynamics, Inc. recently announced the investment of two GL production lines at the Texas plant, and it was expected to produce officially in the second half of next year.
