Ghana’s GIADEC signs MoU with Bauxite Minerals Group for bauxite capacity expansion

It was reported that Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Corporation (GIADEC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bauxite Minerals Group for the capacity expansion of bauxite mining operations in Awaso from 1 million tons to approximately 5 million tons.

The work is now in the final phase, and bauxite mining activities will be started in Awaso, Nyinahini, and Kyebi.

GIADEC has scheduled to build an alumina plant with an annual production capacity of 1.6 million tons as part of the framework of the MoU.
