Global alumina production grows in Dec 2023

According to statistics released by the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), global alumina production totaled around 12.3 million tons in December last year, growing by 3.4% from the figure in the previous month. The daily average production in December was 396,700 tons.
In the given month, the estimated alumina production in China was 7.09 million tons, and the output in Africa and Asia, excluding China, was 1.219 million tons. Alumina production in Oceania was 1.607 million tons.
In the whole year of 2023, global alumina production amounted to approximately 141.9 million tons, falling from 142.2 million tons in 2022.
