In May this year, the total crude steel output of the world's 60 major steel-producing countries totaled around 169.5 million tons, which increased by 3.7% month on month compared with April and decreased by 3.5% year on year.

The global crude steel output amounted to 792.4 million tons in the first five months of this year, a year-on-year decline of 5.1%.

The overall output of Asian countries increased steadily, while the output in Europe increased slightly except for Germany, which decreased month on month.

In May, Turkey's crude steel production fell the most in the world due to the country's economic pressure. At present, global steel prices have been falling continuously, and the market sentiment is slightly pessimistic.
