Global crude steel production slides in Apr

According to the data from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel production was roughly 137 million tons in April, sliding by 6.8% from the previous month and 13% from April a year ago.

Among them, Asian crude steel output reached about 105 million tons, decreasing by 7.5% year on year. The European Union (EU) produced around 11 million tons, falling by 22.9% year on year. North America produced about 7.2 million tons, dropping by 28.3% year on year.

In the first four months of 2020, the production of global crude steel was approximately 581 million tons, going down by 4.1% year on year.
