Global primary aluminum supply has surplus of 474,000 tons in Jan-Mar 2022

According to a report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS), the global primary aluminum supply had a surplus of 474,000 tons in the first three months of this year, compared to a supply shortage of 1.676 million tons in 2021.

The demand for primary aluminum in the January-March period was 16.23 million tons, falling by 727,000 tons compared to the same period in the previous year.

During the given period, global aluminum production had a year-on-year drop of 0.4%.
